Managed/Hosted Synology NAS

Managed/Hosted Synology NAS

Rent/Buy?
What is the difference between a Synology NAS and a classic online/cloud backup?

A Synology NAS is a server for companies and private individuals that can be set up individually. Online/cloud backups, on the other hand, are pure backup solutions for your existing servers and workstations. However, it is possible to set up an automatic backup of your Synology NAS to online/cloud backups.

Where is my Synology NAS when ordered?

In Switzerland. Access is strictly controlled within our Tier III+ data center. Furthermore, no EDV-Guru employee has access to the contents of your hard drives.
Depending on the “package”, access to maintenance functions or additional powers can only be granted individually for support services depending on the customer’s wishes for support services.

What happens if there are hardware problems?

The IT Guru undertakes to exchange faulty material in our data center within 24-48 hours of your request.

What is a Synology High Availability?

A high-availability Synology NAS is a combination of two Synology servers in a single, highly available cluster. One server takes on the role of the active server, while the other acts as a passive standby server. The active server handles all requests and data services, with everything continually replicated on the passive server. If the active server is unavailable, the passive server automatically takes over to keep the applications' file services running within minutes. In this way, this infrastructure ensures perfect data redundancy in the event of unforeseen events.

 Can I create additional backups?

Of course, we also offer native integration with one of our backup products.

Can I host websites or other CMS systems with my Synology Server?

Yes. Your Synology NAS offers a wide range of features. The Synology operating system provides you with a marketplace through which you can install Apache, OwnCloud, Plex, HyperBackup and many other applications.

Can I expand my offer?

Yes. Since resources are physically assigned to each customer, it is still necessary to use a second Synology NAS in order to transfer the data to another model.

Is my data secured?

Protecting your data is our core business. Access to our Tier III+ data center is strictly limited to a few authorized people and protected via biometric recognition and vein print. You can sit back and relax.
